THE PIERCE FOUNDATION · EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 26, 2026
Privacy notice
The PIERCE Foundation, Inc. operates PIERCE Connect as a resource directory. This notice describes the app’s practices; linked services have their own policies.
Information we collect
Search words, filters and guide choices are used in the page and are not saved by the app. Browsing the directory does not require an account. We have not added advertising trackers or a mechanism to sell directory visitor information.
- Resource suggestions: organization details, service description, public contact information, and the submitter’s follow-up email.
- Corrections: the resource identifier and the message you provide.
- Partnership inquiries: company, name, email, optional website, interest and message.
- Administrative activity: the signed-in administrator identifier, actions, dates and review notes. Public visitors cannot access review queues.
Hosting and sign-in providers may process IP addresses, device/request metadata, access logs and authentication information under their own policies. App search choices are distinct from these ordinary hosting records.
Why information is used and who can access it
The Foundation uses submissions to review resources, respond to corrections, consider partnerships, prevent abuse and maintain the directory. Review queues are restricted to the configured Foundation administrator. Relevant hosting, database and authentication providers process information to operate the service. The app uses OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Authorized service personnel may have access as necessary to operate or secure those systems.
Approved public service details can appear in the directory. Submitter emails, correction messages and inquiry contact information are not published by the app. We may provide information when legally required or reasonably necessary for security, rights protection or an emergency response permitted by law. Do not send private patient information.
Retention and removal
The Foundation’s operating policy calls for a quarterly retention review. The target is to remove or redact submitter contact details and inquiry/correction free text when no longer needed, generally within 180 days after the matter closes. Public resource information remains while a listing is maintained. Minimal administrative review history is normally kept for two years. Legal holds, disputes, regulatory obligations or security investigations can require longer preservation.
These are review targets, not an automatic deletion timer. Administrative redaction removes selected fields in the active app database; hosting logs and backup copies are managed separately by service providers and may remain for their applicable retention periods. The Foundation must verify the backup and logging terms with its providers; immediate removal from every backup is not promised.
Your requests
Email admin@piercefoundation.org to request access, correction or deletion of information you submitted, or raise a privacy concern. Include the submission type and approximate date. Do not email medical records, government identifiers or passwords. We may verify your identity using proportionate information and explain any applicable preservation limits. This inbox is not monitored continuously and is not a channel for urgent help.
Sensitive information and children
The forms are for directory administration and organizational inquiries, not treatment intake. Do not submit diagnoses, patient stories, information about another person’s health, or children’s private information. Adults should handle directory submissions. If sensitive information is received unexpectedly, the administrator should restrict its use and arrange appropriate redaction or preservation.
Calls, email and external sites
Calling, texting, emailing or visiting a listed service connects you with that outside organization. Its confidentiality, recordkeeping, insurance, employment-reporting and access policies apply. We cannot promise those services are anonymous, confidential in every circumstance, or HIPAA-covered. The Foundation’s HIPAA role has not been legally determined; the app does not claim HIPAA compliance.
Security and notice updates
Administrative sign-in and authorization checks restrict review access. No online system can guarantee complete security. The Foundation’s incident procedure requires investigation, preservation and legal assessment of any applicable notification obligations. Material changes to these practices will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
